Sweet Nostalgia

For the past five months, all I've done is writing one draft after the other for my dissertation, so of course, writing a post wasn't on my mind because all I would do would be ranting and rambling on. I already do that enough every day, and I'm lucky that the people who're at the receiving end haven't cut me off already. I am thankful. And grateful. But this post is dedicated to and inspired by a beautiful show, a k drama that compelled me to write. I've been regularly watching k dramas since last year, and to be honest, I've come across some great ones which made me cry, laugh, think and smile. Quite a few of them are really good, and I can't help fangirling about them especially shows like  It's Ok to not be Ok  where the story is so intricately woven that you feel like you've discovered something incredible. However, among all of us, the most recent one that I finished watching just a little while ago was  Romance is a Bonus Book . Pleas...

New Found Love

With more than a gazillion emotions tied in one, the word love is something that can be used across so many contexts, and yet what remains common is that feeling of attachment, be it an object, a hobby, or a person. Before you start thinking that this post is dedicated to February's feel of love in the air, let me tell you that it's so not the case. Not a chance. It's about my new love in the form of content. I've always loved content especially in the form of books, movies, and tv shows - basically, everything which is responsible for my vivid imagination and my head still stuck in the era of Austen. A few years back I was reading  Me Before You  and there's a scene in which an individual who hates watching films with subtitles falls in love with it. And I remember thinking to myself that I could never imagine something like that - how could you possibly watch a film in a foreign language with the subtitles being your driving force? Fast-forwarding it to the pre...

L'hiver est arrivé

No, I don't know the first thing about French except that French croissants oozing with chocolate are the best bakery good you'll ever come across. Ah, just thinking about it transports me to a day spent in Paris three years back. No, not like Emily in Paris more like a mere one day tourist there but how I wish I had coffee in the  quaint and charming roadside cafes there but then that's what drives our future travel plans right? One day, I am going to go back just to have that hot cappuccino. Nevertheless coming back to reality, yeah it's still 2020 but the weather's colder now. I hate when people say that discussing weather is an old man's job. Why. I feel like I can talk about it at length except the rains because those who know me, know that I share a rather luke warm relationship with it. Even cold.         It's been a long time since I last wrote and today after finally completing my practical reports, for the first time in...

The Ordinary

What comes to your mind when you read this word, ordinary? Do you feel it’s something synonymous to say ‘usual’? Or ‘matter of fact’? Routine? Mundane? I don’t know and honestly I don’t intend to sound like a philosopher or philanthropist. A little secret- I can’t explain the difference. Is it just me or are there times when words don’t naturally come together to help you explain or describe a thing or person. Nope, not in a romantic sort of a way but in general.   Ordinary. Some might call it being average or well basic. Heads up- I’m in one of those moods wherein I pen down random thoughts that keep popping in my head and writing them feels cathartic to me.   It gives me a free space, a place where I can steer some of those fomo driven thoughts in a direction, I want. Look at them from a different perspective or accept these as a part of my own psyche.   I feel this is my own happy place that I’m building. Yesterday, in a lecture, one of my professors was talking ab...
